Maldives Border Miles, the first traveller destination loyalty programme in the world, has announced that it now has more than 1.5 million members. This historic accomplishment was completed in a comparatively short amount of time, enhancing and solidifying the status and presence of the nation’s first-ever three-tier destination loyalty programme.
On September 27, 2020, Maldives Border Miles was formally launched countrywide, coinciding with World Tourism Day. Since its inception on January 1, 2023, the programme has grown in popularity among visitors who come to the Maldives to experience the destination’s acclaimed beauty and celebrated world-class hospitality. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the collaboration of various partners and stakeholders, including the Maldives Immigration, and the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
Members of the dedicated loyalty programme can receive points based on a variety of characteristics such as the length of their stay, trips to celebrate significant occasions, involvement in local events, frequency of visits, and several other similar considerations. Designed in three levels: Aida, Antara, and Abaarana The program’s rapid expansion and overwhelming response from its 1.5 million members demonstrate the Maldives’ dedication to providing great hospitality and creating unforgettable memories for every guest. Maldives Border Miles welcomes all visitors to participate in the programme and enrich their time in the Maldives with a trip that recognises and rewards their devotion.
