The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), proudly highlighted the Maldives’ rich tourism offerings at the PATA Travel Mart 2024. This event took place from August 27 to 29 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
Throughout the three-day event, the focus was on promoting “Destination Maldives,” showcasing the country’s unique landscapes, vibrant marine life, and diverse accommodation options. These efforts reinforced the Maldives’ status as a top global destination.
The Maldives delegation included key figures such as MMPRC’s Chairperson Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz, CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree, MATATO’s CEO Aminath Suzan, and representatives from major industry partners like Dhigufaru Island Resort, Furaveri Maldives, and Sun Siyam Travels. Each partner highlighted the wide range of experiences available in the Maldives, from serene island retreats to thrilling underwater adventures.
Reflecting on the event, MMPRC CEO Mr. Shiuree stated, “With Tourism being the largest economic industry in the Maldives, participation in this fair has helped us reinforce our commitment to promoting our tourism assets and engaging with international stakeholders to drive sustainable growth in the industry.”
PATA Travel Mart 2024 also marked the 25th anniversary of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s establishment in Thailand. The event offered valuable networking opportunities, a B2B Travel Mart, and several seminars, serving as a vital platform for travel and tourism organizations to connect with decision-makers and explore new business partnerships.
