The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the National Hotel and Guest House Association (NHGAM) and the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), is highlighting the Maldives’ tourism offerings at the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024 in Dhaka. Running from September 19th to 21st, the event aims to attract more visitors from the growing Bangladeshi market and other Asian countries, showcasing the Maldives as a prime destination for affordable luxury and leisure travel.
As the key partner country of ATF 2024, the Maldives delegation includes 37 representatives from 23 industry partners. The Maldives’ stand at the event emphasizes the country’s natural beauty, marine life, and diverse travel experiences. Special activities such as traditional Maldivian food tastings and a focus on family travel and affordable luxury are featured. The event also aligns with World Tourism Day, adding extra significance to the occasion.
During the event, MMPRC Deputy Managing Director Zihuny Rasheed spoke about the importance of the Bangladeshi market and how the Maldives continues to create innovative marketing campaigns and partnerships to showcase the beauty and diversity of the islands. MMPRC CEO Ibrahim Shiuree emphasized that ATF Dhaka is an excellent opportunity to engage with Asian tourism leaders and further strengthen the Maldives’ presence in the region.
As of July 2024, the Maldives has seen a significant increase in arrivals from Bangladesh, with 18,843 visitors, marking a 38% rise compared to the previous year. MMPRC is committed to expanding its reach in this promising market through focused marketing campaigns and partnerships, making the Maldives a preferred destination for adventure, relaxation, and luxury travel.
