As the world now enters a post-pandemic world in 2023, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) has returned to the ITB Berlin 2023 after a complete 3-year absence. The ITB Berlin 2023 took place from the 7th of March to the 9th of March. 91 companies with 233 representatives participated in the ITB fair making it the largest fair ever in the history of MMPRC with the delegation count. A dedicated ‘Maldives Media Meet’ press conference was hosted by MMPRC on 7th March alongside the ITB Berlin followed by an exclusive ‘Maldives Evening’ networking event at the Grand Hyatt Berlin on 8th March for trade professionals from across the world.
With its 91 counters and 73 dedicated tables, the ITB Berlin provided an opportunity for industry partners to engage in productive meetings and network with the global travel trade. Cultural performances such as traditional Maldivian dance and a range of unique experiences with vibrant and colorful stand features were organized. In 2022, with an arrival figure of 133,424 tourists Germany stood in 4th place for the highest source market capturing a total of 8 percent of the market. In 2023, the Maldives has seen an arrival count of 22,995 visitors from Germany placing it in 5th place.
